Solano County SPCA - What's New?

Solano SPCA staff and volunteers were invited to Farifield Subaru on October 10th to serve burgers and dogs for their Show and Shine car show.  The dealership provided a donation for our efforts, supplied all of the food, and also let us keep all of the money made from selling the food!  Thanks Fairfield Subaru for your support - we had a great time!  Also in attendance was "Duke" who worked as a Solano SPCA Donation Dog and performed a variety of great tricks.  Here are some pictures:

Solano SPCA staff and volunteers appeared at the Napa Solano Blues Society membership drive blues festival on May 30th.  We had a booth set up and performed community outreach and fundraising activities.  It was a great event with three local blues bands opening for the headliner Rod Piazza and The Mighty Flyers (an internationally known blues band from Southern California).

Solano SPCA staff and volunteers appeared at the Vacaville Town Square events this May.  We had a booth and a couple of adopted dogs wearing "donation vests" that helped us raise needed funds (see the pics below).  We had a great time and made a lot of new friends for the shelter.

The SPCA of Solano County is looking for Guardian Angels to help us take care of the special needs animals who come into our shelter.  Whether an animal needs heartworm treatments, a surgery to remove a growth or a dental treatment to improve its adoptability, your donation could make the difference of a lifetimeDonations can be for the full amount needed or partial amounts.  If donations exceed the amount needed for a specific animal, the additional amount will be applied to our general Guardian Angel Fund.

Volunteers - shirts and hats are now available for purchase at http://www.cafepress.com/solanospca.   This great apparel can be worn at the shelter while volunteering as well as out in the community to show your support.  Also, a percentage of each sale goes to the shelter to support animal care and adoption activities.
