The Solano SPCA takes stray animals when space permits.
The Solano SPCA takes strays when there is space available. We generally operate at capacity. Please give us a call before bringing an animal to us. We can let you know if there is room before you come. We can always take a found or lost report and scan the animal for a microchip..
The Solano SPCA receives 10-15 calls every week by someone who wants to bring in a cat. We operate at capacity and are only able to take in what we adopt out. We are required to hold cats for a number of days to ensure they are not incubating a disease and to assess their temperament for placement. Many people want to bring cats to the Solano SPCA because we are a "no kill" shelter for adoptable animals and want to ensure their pets get a good home. We ask that you keep calling and be patient.
The surrender fee helps to cover some of the costs your animal incurs during its stay at the Solano SPCA.
All animals that are accepted into the adoption program at the Solano SPCA receive necessary vaccinations and any needed medical attention. Many of the animals are with us for an extended amount of time, and the fee helps to cover some of the daily needs.
